This Friday there will be two new inductees added to the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Honor at Garrett High School. This program allows us to connect our past with our present to impact the future.

 Dr. Leonard Vanderbosch – Class of 1955 

Leonard Vanderbosch graduated from Garrett High School in 1955. 

His education included Joseph’s Hospital School of X-ray Technology (1957); B.A. Degree at 

Indiana University (1962); M.D. Degree at Indiana University School of Medicine (1965). 

He served as U.S. Military Captain from 1966-1968. Len served his community as a physician from 1968-2016. Awards include Joint Service Commendation Medal, Friend of Education, Physician Partner VNA, Distinguished Service Award SNJM, and the Annual Service Award WHCA. 

Faith-Family-Friendship-Fortitude are important to him. His service to his community was noted; ‘never turning anyone in need away and is the ultimate healer in that he always takes time to listen’. 

Dr. Vanderbosch credits the support of his wife of 64 years, Judy (Judith Helbert, GHS Class of 1958) for his ability to serve. He is thankful for the support from family, friends and the Garrett community. Retirement includes reading, golfing, and family time with 5 children, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

 LTC Dr. Ann (Kobiela) Ketz, GHS Class of 1994 

After graduating from GHS in 1994, Ann pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cedarville University, where she received an Army ROTC scholarship and was commissioned in 1998. She completed her Master of Nursing at the University of Washington in 2006 and her Doctor of Philosophy at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD in 2014. Her 21-year military career took her and her family around the globe, with assignments in Colorado, South Korea, Washington D.C., and many years in Germany. Her military career provided her with broad clinical nursing experience including medical-surgical, intensive care, oncology, and pediatrics. Her research focused on studying different types of pain and treatment methods. 

Ann is currently the Senior Manager for Clinical Affairs at Recovery Sciences, Enovis, where she continues to support research learning how medical rehabilitation devices can reduce pain. Ann, her husband Brian, and their two children live in Park City, UT, where they enjoy hiking, biking, and skiing the beautiful mountains.
