Welcome aboard! We are excited to welcome Dan Durrwachter as the new Garrett-Keyser-Butler CSD Superintendent beginning in July.

“I grew up in Huntington, Indiana, and graduated from Huntington North High School. After graduating from Huntington North, I attended Clarks Summit University in Pennsylvania. At Clarks Summit University I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Science education. I accepted my first teaching and coaching position at South Montgomery

Community School Corporation as a seventh and eighth grade science teacher and soccer coach. One year later, I was recruited by Crawfordsville Community School Corporation to teach high school science and coach the boys' varsity soccer team. I spent the next five years working at Crawfordsville High School teaching biology, earth science, integrated chemistry and physics, and coaching. During this time, I completed my Master of Arts in educational administration and then pursued my first administration position in Peru, Indiana. I accepted the position of assistant principal and athletic director at Blair Pointe Upper Elementary School. After three years of serving as the assistant principal, I began working as the assistant superintendent and chief financial officer of Peru Community Schools. While working in that capacity, I oversaw all elementary curriculum, high-ability programs, grant writing, and k-12 testing. For the past six school years, I have worked in that role and completed my chief financial officer certification and educational specialist degree from Ball State University. Each one of these public school experiences has provided me with tremendous growth on my leadership journey and given me a passion for serving students and their families as a school superintendent. I am honored to partner with the teachers, staff, administrators, and the school board at Garrett-Keyser-Butler Community School District to serve our students and community. I look forward to building upon the great work that is already happening here. My wife, five kids, and I look forward to meeting you soon!” -Dan Durrwachter

We are excited to have you!
